In December 2004, I was elected to serve as the Chairman of the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission. I was reelected in December 2005 for another one-year term.

West Side Task Force

During my tenure as the Chairman of the AIPC, I had the opportunity to serve as a member of the West Side Task Force, the AIPC sponsored organization that developed the West Side Master Plan for Aquidneck Island.

City of Newport Planning Board

In February 2003, I was asked to serve on the City of Newport - Planning Board. The following October, I was elected Secretary of the Board and appointed to the Aquidneck Island Planning Comission.

North End Master Plan Committee

I served on the North End Master Plan committee which worked with Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority, Rhode Island Department of Transportation, and other groups to consider the best opportunities for the North End of Newport.

Newport Redevelopment Agency – Design Advisory Subcommittee

I was a member of the committe which studied the traffic improvements for the Broadway / Marlborough Street intersection and reviewed the plans for a proposed Mary Street parking garage.
