Seventy-fifth District:
The current 75th District was created in 2002 when the Rhode Island House of Representatives was reduced from 100 seats to 75. It is defined in Chapter 22-1 of the General Laws entitled "Composition of Senate".
The seventy-fifth representative district shall consist of all of that part of the city of Newport bounded by
  • a line beginning at the intersection of the Newport-Jamestown boundary line in Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge;
  • thence easterly along the Newport Bridge to Rhode Island route 138;
  • thence northeasterly on Rhode Island route 138 to Conrail Railroad;
  • thence southerly on Conrail Railroad to the intersection of the Walnut Street extension to Farewell Street;
  • thence southeasterly on Farewell Street to Marlborough Street;
  • thence easterly on Marlborough Street to Broadway;
  • thence northeasterly on Broadway to Calvert Court;
  • thence southeasterly and northeasterly on Calvert Court to Cranston Avenue;
  • thence southeasterly on Cranston Avenue to Kay Street;
  • thence northeasterly on Kay Street to Rhode Island Avenue;
  • thence southerly on Rhode Island Avenue to Champlain Street;
  • thence easterly on Champlain Street to South Easton Pond;
  • thence easterly through South Easton Pond to the Newport-Middletown boundary line;
  • thence southeasterly along the Newport-Middletown boundary line to Easton Bay;
  • thence southwesterly along the mean low water level on the western shore of Easton Bay to the Atlantic Ocean;
  • thence southwesterly and northerly along the city of Newport and the mean low water level of the Atlantic Ocean to the Newport-Jamestown boundary line;
  • thence northerly along the Newport-Jamestown boundary line to the point of origin.
