Spinal Cord Injury Health Teaching
Learning mobility skills is important so that the client can negotiate movement on sidewalks and carpeting and other flooring surfaces. The client must also be able to negotiate sidewalk curbs while walking independently with crutches, cane, or in a wheelchair.
Some clients are discharged to home with a halo vest that has a significant physical and psychological impact on clients. Clients find it difficult to perform mobility skills and ADLs independently.
ADL training includes a structured exercise program to promote strength and endurance.
