Fluid And Electrolyte Imbalance
Complications include diabetes insipidus and syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH). Clients are on strict I&O. The nurse assesses the client carefully for indications of fluid overload or dehydration during treatment. Serum electrolyte levels and osmolality are measured daily or more often if indicated clinically.
