Expectations
The client is expected to achieve continence of stool and urine.
Interventions
Clients with SCIs have reflex or neurogenic loss of bowel and bladder control. Many clients can become continent if they rigorously adhere to an established program.
The type program depends on whether the injury involves upper motor neurons or lower motor neurons.
