Polyneuritis and Polyneuropathy
Assessment
Examination of sensory and motor ability. Position sense, pain, signs of injury of which the client may be unaware. The nurse also assesses the client for:
Orthostatic hypotension
Abnormal sweating
Miosis
Sphincter disturbances.
Other dysfunctions that may accompany neuropathy.
Interventions:
Removal of the underlying cause.
Supplementation of diet.
Client teaching.
